Metra | Amtrak | Airport Express | High-Speed Rail

Modern trainsets, like this one from France, would improve the quality of Metra service.

When Chicagoans need to go to O'Hare they usually don't think of Metra. In fact, most people don't know Metra already stops there. Infrequent departures and a bad connection to the terminals don't make it an appealing option.

The fact is, with a few improvements, Metra could be a great way to go to the Airport.

Upgrading Metra's North Central route linking O'Hare and Union Station would be a great first step. Connecting to the Metra Electric via Union Station and McCormick Place would vastly improve access for the Southside.

The proposed STAR commuter line would connect suburbs like Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg. Connections to other Metra routes are also possible.

O'Hare is a major asset that Metra does not take advantage of. Including O'Hare in the network will give millions of Chicago-area residents an attractive transportation option and pave the way for future improvements.
